Kartpin Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Kartpin collects, uses, shares, stores, and deletes information when you use the Kartpin customer app, website, and related services available through https://kartpin.com. For privacy questions, contact us at indiakartpin@gmail.com.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information needed to run a hyperlocal shopping and delivery service. This may include:
- Account details such as email address, name, phone number, profile information, and authentication status.
- Delivery details such as saved addresses, delivery pin, receiver name, receiver phone, landmarks, pincode, and delivery instructions.
- Foreground location when you choose to share it while the app is open, used to find nearby sellers, estimate delivery, and set your shopping area.
- Order information such as cart items, seller, order status, totals, payment method, payment status, invoices, returns, refunds, and support history.
- Payment-related references such as Razorpay order IDs, payment IDs, signature verification status, and payment intent status. Kartpin does not store full card numbers or UPI credentials in the customer app.
- Notification and device information such as Expo push token, platform, device name or model, notification permission status, and whether order notifications are enabled.
- Discovery assistant data such as search queries, AI shopping prompts, chat history, recommended product IDs, and product search activity when you use discovery features.
- Live shopping viewer data such as stream ID, viewer display name, connection status, and LiveKit token metadata needed to join seller live streams as a viewer.
- Support messages and emails you send to Kartpin, including information needed to resolve account, order, refund, return, or delivery issues.
2. How We Use Information
- To create and manage your Kartpin account and OTP-based sign-in.
- To show local products, nearby sellers, delivery estimates, and serviceability for your selected area.
- To save delivery addresses and receiver details for checkout and delivery handoff.
- To place, route, track, cancel, support, and confirm customer orders.
- To process cash-on-delivery and online-payment order records, verify Razorpay payment events, and prevent payment misuse.
- To send order confirmations, seller updates, delivery updates, and optional push notifications.
- To power AI-assisted product discovery and improve search relevance.
- To provide live shopping viewing, customer support, account security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and service reliability.
3. Service Providers And Sharing
Kartpin does not sell your personal data. We share or process information only as needed to provide the service, comply with law, protect users, or support Kartpin operations. Service providers used by Kartpin may include:
- Supabase for authentication, database, storage, realtime updates, and backend functions.
- Expo push notifications for order notification delivery.
- Razorpay for online payment order creation and payment verification.
- Resend for transactional order and support emails.
- LiveKit for seller live-shopping video streams viewed in the app.
- OpenRouter for AI-assisted shopping discovery responses when you use AI discovery.
- Nominatim/OpenStreetMap for reverse geocoding coordinates into human-readable address details.
- Kartpin media and storage infrastructure for product, category, seller, and app media assets.
4. Ads, Sale Of Data, And Marketing
The Kartpin customer app v1 does not show third-party ads and Kartpin does not sell personal data. Kartpin may use website analytics or pixels on web pages to understand site traffic and improve the service, but Play Console Data Safety declarations for the customer app should reflect the data actually collected by the app package.
5. Location, Camera, Microphone, And Notifications
The customer app requests foreground location only when you choose to set or refresh your delivery location. Location is used while the app is open for nearby sellers, delivery estimates, address setup, checkout, and order routing. The customer app v1 is viewer-only for live shopping and does not require customer camera or microphone access. Notifications are optional and used for order updates after you allow them.
6. Security
Kartpin uses HTTPS/TLS for data in transit and relies on role-based access controls, row-level security, authenticated backend functions, and restricted service keys for backend operations. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to protect customer data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss.
7. Retention And Deletion
We keep account, order, payment, delivery, notification, and support records for as long as needed to provide Kartpin services, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, meet tax/accounting duties, and comply with applicable law. Some records, such as invoices, payment references, refunds, and order history, may be retained where legally required even after an account deletion request.
